HairbyZakiya was created in 2019 from a simple hobby and a passion for beauty. While attending the University of the West Indies, I began styling hair from my dorm room, offering affordable hair services to fellow students. What started as a learning experience soon blossomed into a career, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, when I found myself with more time to explore my passion for hair.

I ventured into selling wigs and bundles, but after experiencing a few challenges and taking a break, I returned with a renewed vision. Through research, I discovered a need for a wig adhesive that could withstand sweat and water while providing reliable hold. This inspired me to develop my own waterproof lace glue formula with the help of manufacturers in China.

After a long and thorough process of testing, refining, and perfecting the formula, I finally created a product I was proud of.

Since 2023, I have been offering my waterproof wig glue, and today, with the support of my family, my faith in God, and a renewed sense of purpose, I am ready to take HairbyZakiya to the next level and serve customers across Jamaica on a larger scale.
